Eating out in Torrox (Nerja)

It goes without saying that, as with all Mediterranean coastal villages, fresh fish is one of the delicacies on offer in Torrox.

As well as this extremely traditional dish, the opportunity to try other local food should not be missed. Popular dishes include papas a lo pobre (fried potato with peppers), maimones (garlic soup), gachas (corn porridge), arriera salad (with tomato, onion and salted cod), migas (breadcrumbs soaked in olive oil, chilli pepper and garlic) and ajo blanco (garlic gazpacho). These are just a few examples of the diverse cuisine in Andalusia.
