Jerez Race Circuit

The Jerez Race Circuit originated from the passion the Jerez people has always had for the bike sport. It was first opened on 8th December 1985 and the first race was a test for the Spanish Car Racing Championship.

Before the Jerez racing circuit was opened the city had already organised national speed races since 1956 and international ones since 1963.

The circuit has a length of 4,423 m with 16 bends and a finish straight line of 600 m.

It was on 29th March 1986 when the first motorbike international race was held, making it known worldwide. Since then Jerez has become the Mecca of international motorcycling racing  and amateurs from all over Spain and Europe “come down” to Jerez for the International World Championship held annually in this circuit.  During this weekend Jerez and the whole of the province of Cádiz, become a melting pot for motorbike amateurs. A party highly recommended for the visitors of the province of Cádiz.

Jerez Circuit In 1992 the Circuit was redone for the first time, the track was re-asphalted, the paddocks enlarged, and the press room was extended achieving a total capacity of 200, being even insufficient for some of the events held in this circuit.
Apart from the above mentioned improvements, it is worth mentioning the application of innovative safety measures in the track at that time, with a very modern system for absorbing collisions and replacing the straw bales.

CIRCUIT RENTAL FOR VISITORS

The Jerez Circuit can be rented all year round. Due to the mildness of the weather (11º - 25º during the whole year) and the little rainfall, it is an ideal place for bike and car races.

Countless companies and stables meet in this circuit to present their vehicles and make the necessary tests before taking part in the races.

There are three rental seasons:

  • LOW SEASON: July and August
  • MEDIUM SEASON: April, May, June, September and October
  • HIGH SEASON: January, February, March, November and December
