Spain’s emergency medical services will treat anybody, citizen or visitor, in urgent circumstances. Also, all of the international health insurance companies have reciprocal arrangements with their Spanish counterparts

Primary care is offered in local health centres with the option of specialist consultations and treatment of emergencies that do not require hospitalization. Overseas visitors can use a local translator when they are visiting the centre. More important cases are referred to a nearby hospital.
